Opening Week

The event will be held at the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente, Hengelostraat 701, Enschede. The venue also host the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC), which offers superb facilities and state of the art technologies.

FIP-AM@UT is located opposite the main entrance of the University of Twente campus. The campus provides ample free parking and boasts excellent public transport connections. For those who prefer a more flexible option, biking is also a convenient and enjoyable choice.

Enschede, a vibrant city located in the Twente region is home to around 160,000 inhabitants in the Netherlands. Kennispark, the high-tech business hub is home to more than 400 companies

HOW TO GET HERE
PUBLIC TRANSPORT

By train
❏ For the Fraunhofer Innovation Platform (FIP-AM@UT), U Parkhotel, and Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, leave the train at Enschede Kennispark station. If you plan to continue your journey by bus, please refer to the information under ‘By bus; From Kennispark Enschede station’. FIP-AM@UT is just a short 7-minute walk away from Enschede Kennispark station, while Hotel De Broeierd can be reached in approximately 5 minutes on foot.

❏ For IntercityHotel Enschede, please do not alight at the Enschede Kennispark station stop. Instead, wait until you reach Central Station Enschede for your destination.

By Intercity train:
❏ For IntercityHotel Enschede: the hotel is situated diagonally opposite the train station. Your stop is Central Station Enschede. For those continuing their journey to FIP-AM@UT, U Parkhotel, and Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede by bus, please refer to the information under ‘By bus; From Central Station Enschede’.

By bus
From station Kennispark Enschede:
❏ Take Line 1 towards the University. If you’re heading to FIP-AM@UT or Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, alight at the Kennispark/UT stop. The FIP-AM@UT building will be visible on your left side, opposite the bus stop, and you can reach it with just a 3-minute walk. Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede is approximately a 10-minute walk from this stop.

❏ For U Parkhotel, the bus will enter the campus. You can leave the bus at stop De Zul, and U Parkhotel is located about 3 minutes away (approximately 300 meters) from there. Line 1 operates around 4 times per hour, and the travel time is only about 3 minutes.

❏ Lines 8 and 9 to Hengelo do not enter UT campus but stop at the main university entrance (Kennispark/UT). It’s a short 3-minute walk to FIP-AM@UT and about 9 minutes (750 meters) to U Parkhotel.

❏ For Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, get off the bus at the De Broeierd stop. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk away.

From Central Station Enschede (line 1 or lines 8 and 9):
❏ If you take Line 1 towards the University, you can easily get to FIP-AM@UT and Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede by alighting at the Kennispark/UT stop. As you step off the bus, you’ll find the FIP-AM@UT building right across from the stop, on your left-hand side. It is a 3-minute walk to FIP-AM@UT and 10-minutes to reach Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede.

❏ For U Parkhotel, take Line 1, and the bus will directly enter the campus. Get off at the De Zul stop, and U Parkhotel is a 3-minute walk away (around 300 meters) from there. Line 1 operates about 4 times per hour, and the travel time typically takes around 14 minutes.

❏ If you take Line 8 or 9 to Hengelo, alight at the De Broeierd stop for Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, the hotel is a 5-minute walk away. For FIP-AM@UT and U Parkhotel, these lines don’t enter the campus but stop at Kennispark/UT. It is a 3-minute walk to FIP-AM@UT and around 9 minutes (750 meters) to U Parkhotel from there.

From Central Station Hengelo (line 8 and 9 to Enschede):
❏ For Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, get off at the De Broeierd stop. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk away.

❏ For FIP-AM@UT and U Parkhotel, lines 8 and 9 don’t enter the campus, but stop at Kennispark/UT which is at the main university entrance. It is a 3-minute walk from the Kennispark/UT stop to FIP-AM@UT, and approximately 9 minutes (covering 750 meters) to reach U Parkhotel.

Bus stops Kennispark/UT, De Broeierd and De Zul are published on the map of the UT. The FIP-AM@UT building number is 74 (Hengelosestraat FR).The U Parkhotel building number is 45 (Hogenkamp HO). Please note: there are fewer buses and adjusted routes during the weekends. While extra buses run during peak hours.

CAR

By car
❏ For FIP-AM@UT, U Parkhotel and Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, take the A1 highway, and then follow the A35 highway towards Enschede. Take exit No. 26A Enschede-West/University, turn right at the traffic lights, and follow the signs to the University.

❏ To FIP-AM@UT, simply enter “Hengelosestraat 701 / Enschede” into your navigation system and follow the instructions. On the map of the UT building number 74 (Hengelosestraat FR).

❏ To U Parkhotel, follow the U Parkhotel signs from the University’s main entrance. The building is number 45 (Hogenkamp HO) on the UT map. Parking is free.

❏ To Fletcher Hotel De Broeierd-Enschede, simply enter “Hengelosestraat 725, Enschede” into your navigation system and follow the instructions. Parking is free.

❏ For IntercityHotel Enschede, follow the A1 highway, take the A35 highway towards Enschede. Take exit No. 26A Enschede-West/University, turn right at the traffic lights, and follow the signs for the city center (centrum). Enter “Willem Wilminkplein 5, Enschede” in your navigation system. The hotel has its own parking garage available at €14 per day.
